"There can be only one !" try out our Highlander based tour ...



Following on from last weeks blog about film locations , we wanted to share one of our favourites , Highlander . With an awesome soundtrack , and a remake in the pipeline we wanted to offer some insight into the great locations that have been used , which showcase the beauty of our glorious country


Our "Highlander" tour of the Highlands would be a thrilling adventure for fans of the film. Follow this itinerary to visit key locations from the "Highlander" movie series:


Day 1: Inverness to Glenfinnan

  • Morning: Start your journey in Inverness and visit the iconic Inverness Castle, featured in the movie.

  • Afternoon: Drive south to Glenfinnan and explore the Glenfinnan Viaduct, seen in the film's opening scenes.

  • Evening: Camp in the scenic Glenfinnan area.

Day 2: Glenfinnan to Glencoe

  • Morning: Head to Eilean Donan Castle, a picturesque location prominently featured in "Highlander."

  • Afternoon: Journey through the breathtaking landscapes of Glencoe, another key filming location.

  • Evening: Camp near Glencoe and soak in the dramatic scenery. We highly recommend the Red Squirrel Campsite



Day 3: Glencoe to Loch Shiel

  • Morning: Explore Glencoe further before heading to Loch Shiel, featured in several scenes.

  • Afternoon: Visit the Glen Nevis Valley, known for its stunning waterfalls and used in "Highlander."

  • Evening: Camp near Loch Shiel.



Day 4: Loch Shiel to Skye

  • Morning: Drive to the Isle of Skye, stopping at the iconic Fairy Pools, used as a backdrop in "Highlander."

  • Afternoon: Explore the Quiraing, showcasing Skye's unique landscape and seen in the film.

  • Evening: Camp on the Isle of Skye.

Day 5: Skye to Glen Coe

  • Morning: Visit the Old Man of Storr, another spectacular Skye location.

  • Afternoon: Head back to Glencoe and camp in the area.

Day 6: Glen Coe to Rannoch Moor

  • Morning: Explore the haunting beauty of Glen Coe once more.

  • Afternoon: Drive to Rannoch Moor, a vast and desolate landscape featured in "Highlander."

  • Evening: Camp near Rannoch Moor.

Day 7: Rannoch Moor to Inverness

  • Morning: Visit the Falls of Dochart in Killin, another location seen in the film.

  • Afternoon: Return to Inverness, completing your "Highlander" tour.

  • Evening: Return your campervan in Inverness and reminisce about your epic journey through the Highlands, immortalized by "Highlander."



This tour takes you through the mystical and dramatic landscapes that served as the backdrop for the immortal battles in the "Highlander" series. It's a trip that combines the magic of the movies with the natural wonders of the Scottish Highlands.
